ll the financial websites say women are better at managing budgets, finagling finances and planning for retirement. Apparently House Minority Leader Pelosi didn’t develop such skills as a stay at home mom for 20 years before entering politics.

Pelosi said on the Sunday talks shows recently, according to The Hill, “It’s almost a false argument that the U.S. has a spending problem.” This is in stark contrast to Obama’s assertion to Speaker Boehner during the fiscal cliff negotiations this past December, “The U.S. doesn’t have a spending problem.”
Consider our budget when Obama took over. Bush’s last budget was $100 billion in the red. We were at the peak of two $1 trillion wars, both of which are now all but over.
In the last four years, Obama’s spending has been $100 billion in the red every month, fifty months in a row. The current fiscal impasse in Washington almost guarantees four more years of the same.
By any reasonable measurement, with Iraq over and Afghanistan all but over, the U.S. should be at least $100 billion in the black every year; if not every month.
Instead, we’re spending $1 trillion over what we take in every year. If that’s not a spending problem, I don’t know what is.
A lesser man than I would make reference to Nancy Pelosi’s home district, San Francisco. He might say that she’s only voicing the opinion of her predominantly gay constituency there.
Nah, that would mean Obama has an even more stridently gay base.
That’s almost an insult.
