The Nazi’s Armament and War Production Authority ensured sufficient labor was available to meet the Reich’s munitions goals.
Every available German was working overtime. There was virtually no unemployment throughout the Nazi era. Every major work camp had hundreds, even thousands, of sub-camps they supplied with workers. There were no slackers in Nazi Germany, not even Jews, not anybody in the camps.
Things are a lot different in modern day America. Virtually all state and federal workers are unionized. Collectively they represent an overwhelmingly Democrat voting block. They not only vote Democrat, they work very hard to get out the vote on election day.
Thus, the government no longer sets productivity goals for workers. Quite the opposite – the unions have steadily decreased the expected output of union members and, at the same time, steadily increased their pay and benefits – health care, retirement, vacation time, comp time, and so forth.
Democrat Washington
This is a beautiful arrangement for Democrat candidates at every level. Government workers have abundant free/leisure time to devote to rallying the Democrat base on election day. They are a vocal, energetic, omnipresent gang of cheerleaders to the liberal cause.
The Nazis, in contrast, forbade unions and set up a strict wage scale to pay workers according to skill level, output and performance – i.e., just like private industry (well, non-unionized private sector).
The Nazis considered unions to be the right arm of the Marxists and communists. Rightly so, because the net cost of unionized works in America has driven 10 million good jobs to China; eagerly facilitated by the unions.
Granted, in the private sector unions have been influential in ensuring safe working conditions and a level of wages balanced with management’s pay scale.
Unions of government workers have lined their pockets, with no commensurate increase in the quality or quantity of their output – leading to the universal acknowledgment that six government workers do the job of one private sector worker at ten times the cost and half the professionalism.
