This was Hitler’s catchword for “Bolshevik art.” He specifically referred to the abstract art of the day called Cubism and
Dadaism as “sickly outgrowths of insane and debilitated people.” We call it modern art these days.
Hitler actually spent a lot of time visiting, supporting, and promoting art and museums – paintings, sculpture, and lavish public displays thereof. Have you ever seen a U.S. president in a museum, at the Smithsonian, at an art gallery?
Kennedy, Clinton, Obama – they all go out of their way to buddy up with Hollywood personalities. The Marine Band is now exceptionally well versed in hip-hop and rap music for all the White House Functions. How long since they’ve played classical music in the White House? Generations.
The closest George Bush ever got to a painting was to have his own White House portrait done. (Although he apparently now spends his time painting horses – to no end of ugly comments from the mainstream intelligentsia.) Ditto for Reagan, Ford, and Carter.
Nixon was the last man to appreciate the arts, and look what the power elites did to him.
The Absence of Culture
The liberals support NPR radio and TV, but only for its value in disseminating their propaganda. A significant portion of their base listens more closely to Big Bird than to CNN or ABC news.
Art is humbling, pure art, classical literature.
Politicians want narcissism, lots of it. They want to be with rock stars, not sensitive artists or deep thinkers. God is dead. We all worship glitz, glam, celebrity, sports prowess, and rock and roll politicians.
Screw character. Preachers make you think, give you principles, and broaden your conscience. Art is the devil’s work, especially thoughtful compositions that make you ponder the nature of
things – the abject deterioration of morality in the modern world.
The internet rules. Scan! We want you to scan – skim the headlines – grab a few bullet points – forget the meaty details, they only confuse. Leave the details to us.
