PFC Bradley Manning pleaded guilty to the 22 counts against him in a plea deal that may get him off with life in prison, maybe even scott free.

A guy gives over 200,000 highly classified documents to WikiLeaks, who in turn publishes them for all the world to see, and he’s only charged with 22 counts? The guy should be shot at dawn and his name stricken from the record.
Sure, he looks like a real geek – that’s just the image his lawyers told him to project.
“I’m a mess,” Manning alias bradass87 said in a chatroom at the time. “I’m in the desert, with a bunch of hyper-masculine trigger happy ignorant rednecks as neighbors. And the only safe place I seem to have is this satellite internet connection.”
He discusses his disdain for feeble computer security at his post in Baghdad, his wrenching breakup with a boyfriend in Boston and his struggles as a “super-intelligent, awkwardly effeminate” homosexual trying to survive his conservative upbringing, a broken family, British schooling and military service in the era of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

But, oh. We don’t want to offend the GLBT community. Bradly had a spat with his lover, and that’s why he committed high treason against America.
What was the total price of Manning’s malfeasance? How many CIA agents were blown, murdered and imprisoned when the State Department and Pentagon documents were made public with no names redacted? How many millions of man hours did it take for the State Department to repair all the embarrassing rifts with our allies world wide when all our dirty laundry was aired in agonizing detail?
How many potential field ops in Afghanistan – how many friends of ours throughout the Middle East – were lost? How many future friends there will never be had? How many years before we regain the trust and respect of our allies? How many recruits was Al Queda able to make using these documents as evidence of American greed, incopetence and abject immorality? How many grad students in Iran will get Ph.D’s in wesern decadence 101 by analyzing these documents?
Bradley Manning is a traitor, pure and simple. He committed 200,000 acts of aiding and abetting the enemy. By charging him with only 22 counts, one count of aiding and abetting the enemy and no counts of federal charges of computer espionage — the authorities offer a clear and dangerous precedent that more is better.
If you’re gonna blow up something, blow up the World Trade Center; you’ll get a light sentence. If you’re gay you can get away with anything. Those are the messages this pitiful ruling sends to the world. If Lee Harvey Oswald had been gay, we would have all been told that JFK had died of a shooting accident or a backfiring motorcycle.
But oh, I forgot, Obama needs the gay vote. He needs the gay “bundlers” who collected over $300 billion for his election campaign. He doesn’t want to make his gay White House secretary upset, either. Angry secreteries can be a real thorn in the arse, especially gay ones.
Which reminds me, why aren’t women upset that Obama has the first gay male White House secretary? What if Mr. Jeremy Bernard gives Wikileaks 200,000 more classified documents?
But – oh, well, maybe he can pass on a few of the Benghazi documents?
