JKF’s statement “Ich bin ein Berliner” was made at the Berlin Wall 50 years ago this year, on June 26th, 1963. “I am a Berliner” was a bold statement of solidarity with the East German people against Soviet oppression.
The Soviets are gone, but the oppression remains – stronger now than ever. The far-left has control of the media, the Democrat Party and the Fortune 500 (i.e. the Republican Party.) Many people think that Rome was the “First Reich.” Actually, the first two Reichs, for the Germans, were:
- The Holy Roman Empire (962 AD – 1806 AD) which was dissolved by Napoleon
- The Germanic Empire (1871 – 1919) which collapsed after World War I
Are you proud to say, “I am an American”? Maybe “I am black” or “I am gay” or “I am a proud Latina.” Most certainly not “I am white.”
Are you proud to say, “I am a German” or “I am a Greek” or “I am a Spaniard”? All these nations are in steep moral and fiscal decay. Whom would JKF feel obligated to rally onward in the modern day? For whom does the bell toll?
