Physical education to the Nazis was considered just as important as a formal education in the classroom.
In the modern day, physical education is almost nonexistent in public schools. The air is so polluted in most large urban areas that parents don’t even allow their children to play outside after school.
Even though studies have proven that kids who get regular exercise excel in the classroom, with far better marks than inactive peers – school districts continue to eliminate P.E. classes. They’re not popular with the students. They’re expensive.
So, kids spend an average of 8 hours a day using electronic media – TV, movies, surfing the web, using smartphones, cell phones, posting to Facebook or Twitter, texting, and playing video games.
No more kickball or soccer, tetherball, calisthenics, softball, basketball, tennis, golf, cycling, football, volleyball, swimming, boxing, wrestling, gymnastics, yoga or stretching.
It’s little wonder why kids are bored to tears.
It’s little wonder why they grow up lacking the social skills, the self-discipline, and the motivation to be good employees, parents, or citizens.
