The “L” for leichen was marked or sewn on the jackets or tattooed on the arms of work camp prisoners who were unfit to work. They were thus marked to be killed or deported and killed.
These days, people who are unable or unfit to work get free cell phones, welfare checks, free healthcare, a bonus for having children (who carry on the family tradition of a lifetime dependence on government). They are not trained, incentivized or motivated to work.
Leichen were mythological werewolves, made famous (notorious?) again by the silver screen in the “Underworld” films and productions of similar ilk in the printed media.
What happens when a whole class of people ceases to work and be productive? They de-evolve into subhuman creatures, is what. And we’re enabling the process to the tune of $1 trillion a year. All courtesy of a faceless central government.
Gone are the days when public welfare was doled out by the local communities. If you wanted public assistance, your own neighbors had to approve it. You had to show yourself worthy of their largesse – by attending church, volunteering for charity groups, doing odd jobs for all askers for free – and doing so with a Christian cheerfulness and zeal.
Now there isn’t even a stigma to fork over food stamps at the cash register in the grocery store. You just use a special credit card. Buying food stamps has become a status symbol.
