This was a play written for Adolf Hitler on his 44th birthday about the Nazi martyr Leo Schlageter. One of the characters delivers the often-quoted line:
“Whenever I hear the word ‘culture,’ I release the safety on my revolver.”
This ranks right up there with Obama’s casual, but sincere remark:
“In down economic times, white people always turn to their guns and their religion.”
Lately, with the whole “gun safety” debate raging, it’s more like: “Whenever I hear the word conservative, I blame them for the whole gun culture.”
Notably absent from Obama’s pea-sized reptilian brain is the effect of Hollywood’s violent media on young minds. The average 18-year-old has personally killed 20,000 humans in video games and witnessed 200,000 murders in the movies, on TV and in video games.
Obama has but to recollect his 20 years sitting on the front pew of Rev. Jeremy Wright’s church listening to vitriolic anti-American rages every Sunday of the month – to realize just how persuasive visual stimulation can be on the psyche.
