I haven’t heard anybody in the media say the words “sanctuary city” since Lou Dobbs was fired from anchoring the CNN evening news three years ago. He has since been hired by the Fox Business cable network.
Lou Dobbs learned his lesson, though – mum’s the word on sanctuary cities.
A “sanctuary city” is a municipality that has made it unlawful to check on a person’s immigration status for any reason. Most major U.S. cities are like this – New York, Houston, Miami, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New Orleans – a total of 250 cities in all.
There are two sanctuary states, Oregon and Utah.
New Mexico just joined Washington state, Utah and Illinois in issuing drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. Police in Los Angeles no longer issue moving violations to illegal immigrant drivers there; the reasoning is they don’t want to deprive them of transportation to work. (i.e. the law says they must impound the vehicle of anybody driving without a license)
Illegals in these cities can get minority set-aside contracts (and you wonder why Hispanics businesses have been flourishing in this horrific economy). They can register to vote, and they can serve on juries.
It’s easy to see why the media has banned any mention of sanctuary cities. One word and tens of thousands of prison inmates would have to be set free because they were convicted by a jury with illegals sitting in judgment.
Obama would lose the election if all votes cast by illegals were purged from the voting rolls.
I kid you not. I have not heard one mention of sanctuary cities on any of the cable tv news networks, on any major news website; it’s a total absolute blackout.
This is worse than political correctness. This is conspiracy of the highest order.
It’s the end of America.
