“Jew houses” were buildings managed by the Jewish Religious Federation from 1941 onwards that, as steady allied bombings precipitated a severe housing shortage, were appropriated by the Gestapo. The Jews were moved to occupied Eastern Europe and the work camps.
Meanwhile, the allied bombings escalated, and the housing problem in Germany became worse and worse. The work camps were never bombed, though; the Jews lived just as well there, maybe better, than German workers and their families living in cities all over Germany that had been bombed to rubble.
A mere 20 years earlier, when the tables were reversed, and the Jews controlled the necessities required to survive – they just let Germans die by the millions of starvation, cold, diseases or just plain neglect.
The Jews had food, shelter, safety, and jobs for as long as they were able to put in an honest day’s work.
