These “Fuhrer Orders” were the highest level of government directive, straight from the Fuhrer’s desk. Fuhrerbefehls did not tolerate contradiction.
These days, we call them Executive Orders, missives from the President that can contradict, contravene, or void any law, policy, or practice in the land.
An even more insidious tactic is to not fund programs that Congress has set up. Homeland Security and the security of our borders is victim to underfunding at every level. 100,000 illegals were released from prison (where they had been sent after a jury file for a non-immigration type of offense) because of “sequestration cuts.”
Then there’s the old trick of choosing what laws to enforce, what laws to defend in court, and how to “allocate limited resources.” The possibilities are limitless.
Team Obama despises voter ID laws. They unduly discriminate against minorities. Say what? You need a photo ID to get a cell phone, cable TV service, broadband service, a bank account, a bank loan, purchase alcohol or tobacco, and virtually every other necessity in modern life. Who can get by without a photo ID?
Then there’s the regulation runaround. A single law passed by Congress can result in 10,000 pages of “regulations” generated by government bureaucrats. These “regulations” contain thousands of new rules every bit as encompassing as the original bill from Congress.
Hitler would be extremely jealous of the President’s ultimate authority; moreover, it’s all practiced almost wholly in total secrecy. Even for those few snafus that get noticed by the media, nobody even knows.
