Mother Theresa eat your heart out (may you rest in peace, Sister). Christendom has a new martyr; actually, 8 of them – a mother and her seven children. Fox News reports they were sentenced to 15 years in prison by an Egyptian court for converting to Christianity from Islam.
Seven children will spend their youth in prison, their formative years in prison – hell, they aren’t hardly old enough to even know what religion is.
Wait, it gets worse.
Nadia Mohamed Ali was raised as a Christian. She converted to Islam 23 years ago to marry a Muslim. He died recently, and she converted back to Christianity to get an inheritance. Doh! To raise her seven children? God bless her.
Such conversions were common in the past but – here’s the kicker – thanks to Egypt’s new Islamist constitution, the penalties are now back to extreme. There has already been random violence against Christian families throughout Egypt. This is surely a sign of things to come, y’all.
Who needs violence when you have a Shariah constitution? Let the fell hand of the law… No, William Henly says it better:

Naturally, this and similar events would never make it into the mainstream media. The Arab Spring liberated Egypt. People there have a democratic government and all the valued freedoms that implies.
If they choose to disadvantage Christians; well, it’s the will of the people.
Christianity is cliché any more.
