The problem is a large and growing class of people who don’t earn enough to contribute to these programs equal to what they will eventually accrue in benefits. Illegal immigrants to Europe have caused the same problems as illegal immigrants to America – a largely uneducated group of workers in low wage jobs who depend on government dole to pay for raising their children.
These subprime citizens now have political influence, to the point where the entire balance of power in the United States is based on who gets the minority, especially the Hispanic, vote. These people have no roots in America, and they aren’t the least bit bothered with abstract notions such as national debt and fiscal responsibility.
Socialism gives these foreigners even more power, whether they are bona fide citizens or not. Illegal immigrants are here to stay. They know it, and the politicians know it. Their numbers are growing at such a rate (while the native population decreases, as it should, in reaction to declining economic conditions), they are the dominant factor in the political equation of every developed nation.
