The “Roman step” style of goose-stepping was introduced by Mussolini into the Italian Army in the 1930s.

The goose step was actually a rigorous style of marching created to keep the troops warm in very cold climates, like they had in Germany (not Italy, though).

The North Korean army goose steps to this day. Naturally, we’re all taught that this is because they are sympathetic to fascism.
