This was the legal, formal obligation to be able to identify oneself at all times. From 1939 onward, every German was required at all times to carry on their person identification papers – a passport, workbook, Nazi Party membership card, and/or a driver’s license.
Having proper and dependable identification is a fundamental premise of any modern society. It’s a legal necessity in a world fraught with crime, deceit, and deception.
In modern America, the presence of 20 million illegal immigrants is a documentary/ID nightmare. All these individuals have
forged driver’s licenses, passports, Social Security cards, credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts and visas which they use on a daily basis with hundreds of businesses.

Yet, our governments at every level are configured to protect illegal immigrants’ daily subterfuge. A single circumstance makes this a political necessity; indeed, a national security issue of the utmost urgency:
Illegals can and do vote. Everyone registered to vote gets called to jury duty. Illegals routinely serve on juries and send bona fide American citizens to prison.
Our criminal justice system would shut down if inmates were allowed to file class action suits against jury decisions made by illegal immigrants. It would be utter chaos.
Nobody can petition the IRS or the Social Security Administration or pension funds or credit card companies to see if their ID number has been used by anybody else.
Republicans are afraid of the legal chaos that would ensue. Democrats need the Hispanic vote (and, increasingly, Republicans do, too). Everybody in government is party to the subterfuge.
Thus, the federal bureaucracy acts as one to ensure that voter ID laws passed by states cannot be enforced. The courts back them up in this- courts that have turned a blind eye to illegal immigrant jurors for decades.
