Pelosi Wants to Use the 14th Amendment to Float the Debt Limit

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was quoted Friday by The Hill as an enthusiastic supporter of using the 14th Amendment to raise the debt limit.  The 14th Amendment states that “the validity of the public debt … shall not be questioned.”

The White House has said in the last month that they unequivocally will not use this constitutional ploy to raise the debt limit.

" We have to pass Obamacare to find out what's in it. "
” We have to pass Obamacare to find out what’s in it. “

This is the same White House that had Treasury Secretary Geitner preparing a unilateral authority to rewrite the tax code to keep middle class tax cuts from going up in the event Congress didn’t pass sweeping fiscal cliff legislation.

This is the President who has not submitted a single budget that’s gotten a single solitary vote in Congress from either party in four years.

The same President who, in the middle of the fiscal cliff negotiations, signed a $11 billion (over ten years) Executive Order for across the board pay raises for all federal workers.  Congress later voted it down, but only after a public outcry.

Nancy Pelosi is feeling her oats now that the Republicans are divided over fiscal responsibility.  The Democrats passed the fiscal cliff legislation in the House easily, with almost 100 Republican defectors.

With Obama’s “mandate” and Biden’s bulldozer diplomacy, she’s Speaker in everything but name.

Beware the whore of Babylon.
