“Operation children” was the euthanasia program of 5000 severely disabled children in 1938-39.
These days we do the same thing to millions of kids every day in every public school in America. We typically no longer require physical education classes. Kids in inner cities can’t play outside, in any event, because the air is too polluted or the ozone level is too high.
With no physical release, kids suffer the consequences – far lower academic performance, greatly diminished social skills (virtually no interpersonal skills that would otherwise be developed in schoolyard squabbles.)
Football is too violent. Allowing one team to “win” hurts the feelings of the losing side. If they don’t learn how to handle disappointment on the playground, how are they going to deal with it the rest of their lives?
