This was the time after the Beer Hall Putsch (Hitler’s failed attempt at revolution in 1923 that landed him in prison) when the Nazi Party was banned. (A political movement that began in a beer hall, and held most of its early meetings in beer halls, can’t be all bad.)
Here in America, conservatives are banned – even from the Republican Party. Nobody likes how they are FISCALLY conservative. Now that really rankles.
The Speaker of the House John Boehner has removed all conservatives (dare I say Tea Partiers) from leadership positions in the U.S. House of Representatives. We can’t have any Ben Franklin “a penny saved is a penny earned” radicals in Washington.
Unlike the Nazis, who rose to the occasion after their ranks were imprisoned, shot, and banished after the “Beer Hall Putsch,” Tea Party activists have quietly disappeared. Cowards!
The vast majority of the Nazis’ funds came from, literally, nickel and dime contributions from working stiffs. The Nazis never were running in the black until well after Hitler became Chancellor.
Thus, the Nazis were extremely frugal until the very end.
